Academic Excellence Reward and 2010 Honor Roll
The Illinois State Board of Education has recognized Lakeview students and staff for earning Academic Excellence Status for 2010. A total of 459 schools across the state earned the award last year. To earn an Academic Excellence Award and be placed on the 2010 Illinois Honor Roll, Lakeview met the following criteria:
Lakeview made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) as outlined by No Child Left Behind requirements for the last two years
Ninety percent of students met or exceeded state standards in both reading and math for the last three years
Ninety Five percent participation rate in state assessments for all students in each subgroup;
An overall attendance rate of at least Ninety percent

P.T.O. Updates

7th Grade Science
Mrs. Sarah Wagner will be leaving Lakeview at the conclusion of the week. Her Family is relocating making it impossible to complete the school year. Our best wishes go out to Mrs. Wagner and her family!
Miss Kari Hopkinson will be taking her place for the remainder of the school year. Kari is a certified science teacher that has student taught and worked as an instructional aide at McClure Junior High in Western Springs. She has also worked in District 66 as a substitute this year. Seventh grade students will be receiving more detailed information from Miss Hopkinson in class. She will be here to meet the students and transition beginning Wednesday this week.
Winter Sports Banquet Thursday March 24, 2011
A banquet honoring our sports teams and cheerleaders from the winter JV and Varsity seasons will be held Thursday evening. If you need information about the event you can email Mr. Dave Dvorak, Athletic Director, at ddvorak@ccsd66.org
Graduation Information Coming in April
A packet of information regarding our eighth grade end-of-the-year activities will be distributed shortly after spring break. Mrs. Liles will meet with the eighth grade class and go through the material prior to sending it home. You will be receiving an email the day it goes home so you know watch for the packet.
Graduation is scheduled for Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 7:30 in the Lakeview Gym.
Spring Break
Spring break officially begins at the conclusion of the school day on Friday, March 25, 2011. Classes resume on Monday, April 4, 2011. I wish safe travels to those of you getting out of town during our break.
